Microsoft HUG is the leading healthcare industry forum for exchanging ideas, promoting learning, and sharing solutions for information systems using Microsoft technologies. HIMSS is a comprehensive healthcare stakeholder membership organization exclusively focused on providing global leadership for the optimal use of information technology (IT) and management systems for the betterment of healthcare.
At the Microsoft HUG Exchange, Anand Gaddum, Director of iLink's Healthcare Practice and member of the Microsoft HUG advisory committee, will present “Interactive and Integrated Cancer Patient Navigation and Access to Records” with Nancy Harris, Administrator of Cancer Services at St. Joseph Health System. They will demonstrate how patient-provider collaboration and outcomes can be improved by interactively connecting patients with care providers using Microsoft Surface, Microsoft HealthVault, Microsoft Amalga UIS, Windows 7 and other Microsoft technologies. Anand will also moderate additional sessions at the Microsoft HUG Exchange. iLink's CEO, Sree Balaji, will be attending the Microsoft HUG Exchange and will be available for one on one discussions about their healthcare solution offerings, built on Microsoft technology and frameworks.
“Within an oncology setting, it’s important that physicians can easily access patient information, streamline collaboration amongst the care team and facilitate better patient and doctor communication in order to discuss the best course of treatment,” said Chris Sullivan, U.S. health provider industry solutions director, Microsoft. “The applications demonstrated by iLink are a prime example of how technology can help foster an interactive dialogue between the patient and their care team, by improving access to clinical data from both parties in a visual and intuitive setting.”
At HIMSS, iLink will present Microsoft's interoperability capabilities at the IHE Interoperability Showcase. iLink experts will also demonstrate and answer questions about innovative healthcare solutions using the latest Microsoft technologies at the Microsoft booth. A featured theatre presentation will show how all of the different care providers contributing to an individual chronic care patient's treatment can share information and coordinate with one another. Other iLink demonstrations at the Microsoft booth will include:
• An online collaboration tool for use by a team of specialists collaborating on a single patient's care;
• How to interactively connect patients with care providers;
• How clinical documents can be exchanged between two health systems irrespective of underlying technology using XDS.b and core Microsoft technologies; and
• Improved patient safety and more rapid development of software using the Microsoft Health Common User Interface (CUI).
