From February 15-18, 2010, electrical power systems manufacturers, vendors and thought leaders will meet at the 2010 PowerTest Electrical Maintenance and Safety Conference. The Conference will be held in Long Beach, Calif. at the Hyatt Regency, and program chair, Ron Widup of Shermco Industries says it will not only be a time to renew and expand industry skill sets, but also a time to look at the power industry’s role in advancing the renewable energy cause.
"This year's conference will be in sunny California – a great place to combine family vacation with a little career enhancing training and industry networking,” said Widup. "We have lined up Randy Swisher, the former executive director of the American Wind Energy Association for nearly 20 years, to keynote the convention and bring us all up to speed on where renewable energy is now and where it is going.”
Hosted by the InterNational Electrical Testing Association, PowerTest 2010 gives attendees the opportunity to establish valuable contacts with leading professionals while encouraging interaction between manufacturers and suppliers that will advance the field. Widup says, in addition to renewable energy, sessions will focus on the tried and true topics — safety, equipment and reliability — but will also explore the latest NERC/FERC implications, and the future of electrical inspections.
The conference will also feature a mystery dinner cruise, a new product forum, a spouse/guest tour – “Taste of California – Shopping and Wine Tasting”, PowerDB Users group meeting, an exhibition and a luncheon.
