This award is a testament to the Data Centre’s outstanding teamwork and collaboration which enabled it to win in overseas ICT markets. The Award Presentation Ceremony was held on the 19th January at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Distinguished attending guests included Mr. John Tsang Chun-Wah, JP, Financial Secretary; Mrs. Rita Lau Ng Wai-lan, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development as well as Mr. Duncan Pescod, Permanent Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development (Communications & Technology).

The internationally recognized Hong Kong ICT Awards are coordinated and administered by the Organizing Committee, chaired by Mr. Jeremy Godfrey, the Government’s Chief Information Officer. The committee also consists of professionals from the telecommunications industry, the world of academia as well as the Hong Kong Government. The Best Collaboration Award is a commendation of outstanding performance and management with strategic partners which enable enterprises’ long-term growth in overseas as well as China ICT markets. Leveraging on the parent company’s top tier network and NTT Com Asia’s expertise in data centre infrastructure design and management, NTT Com Asia’s Hong Kong Data Centre has been able to take the lead in a tough competition and capture this prestigious award.

Mr. Takanobu Maeda, President & CEO of NTT Com Asia said: “We are honored to be given the Bronze Award for Best Collaboration (Overseas Market) under the prestigious Hong Kong ICT Awards 2009. NTT Com Asia has steadfastly adhered to the outstanding traditions of our parent company NTT Communications for excellent service and strict quality control. Our efforts to attain perfection have attracted numerous world-renowned multinational companies. This in turn strengthens Hong Kong’s position as an ICT hub. The Award gives us the impetus to continue working to provide even better services in the future.”

NTT Com Asia’s Hong Kong Data Centre (ntt.com.hk) has been built to achieve the Tier III+ infrastructure level. Every aspect of its facilities, including power, cooling, and telecommunications systems are fully redundant to ensure business continuity for all customers. The Data Centre quickly gained international recognition since its opening in 2009. To-date, it has received ISO/IEC 27001:2005 information security management system (ISMS) certification as well as the ISO 9001:2008 quality management system certification. The Hong Kong ICT Award is, without a doubt, an affirmation of NTT Com Asia’s Hong Kong Data Centre's professionalism and outstanding level of teamwork.
