The National Mature Media Awards is the nation’s largest awards program that recognizes and honors the best in advertising, marketing, and educational materials produced for adults age 50 and over. The Society of Certified Senior Advisors (SCSA) was recognized during the 2009 Annual Mature Media Awards for their innovative CSA Journal. The journal was chosen from nearly 900 entries and was judged by a distinguished panel of mature market experts from across the United States for overall excellence of design, content, creativity and relevance to the senior market. The CSA Journal was recognized with the Bronze award, the highest accolade received in their category.
The CSA Journal is an interdisciplinary publication created by the Society of Certified Senior Advisors that focuses on issues pertaining to aging, the aging process, and older adults. It is a quarterly publication that is divided into four sections- Social; Health; Financial; and Arts, Humanities, and Spirituality. It is offered as a continuing-education tool for members of the Society of Certified Senior Advisors to enhance their understanding of the lives of seniors.
The award winning CSA Journal (csa.us) is an example of the quality and commitment that the Society of Certified Senior Advisors have in helping professionals understand the surprising complexity of what it means to be an older adult today.
SCSA’s mission is to educate professionals to work more effectively with their senior clients. For those who work with seniors, this means understanding the key health, social and financial factors that are important to seniors—and how these factors work together. CSAs are able to integrate this into their professional practices, no matter what field they’re in. They’ve learned how incredibly gratifying it is to help seniors achieve their goals, and the seniors they’ve worked with have learned how important it is to work with someone who truly understands their age-related circumstances.
