Williamstown, MA, United States, 2010/01/12 - Mark Hulbert, Publisher of the Hulbert Financial Digest and senior columnist for MarketWatch has cited Dion’s Fidelity Independent Adviser among the five best financial newsletters for market timing and risk-adjusted returns.
Don Dion, publisher of the Fidelity Independent Adviser and ETF Action Newsletter has been named a “top market timer” in Barron’s magazine.
In a January 6th article entitled “Top Market Timers Give Their 2010 Outlooks”, Mark Hulbert, Publisher of the Hulbert Financial Digest and senior columnist for MarketWatch, cited Dion’s Fidelity Independent Adviser among the five best financial newsletters for market timing and risk-adjusted returns.
The Fidelity Independent Adviser was selected by Hulbert based on historical performance data. In the article, Hulbert identifies five advisers and newsletters that were “able to jump over three market timing performance hurdles”, and had given the best market-timing advice in the three periods of 2002-2007, 2007-2009, and the overall ten year period through the end of 2009. Hulbert notes that “each (hurdle) is demanding enough in itself, but collectively particularly so.”
Looking forward, Hulbert notes that Dion’s market outlook for 2010 is “leaning towards being bullish,” but notes that Dion believes that “the year will test the market’s strength and stamina.”
