Today, new products are kept being developed such as the interlocking range VIGILGUARD, which operates on the same process.
Interlocking devices are solutions used to protect operators from dangerous parts of machinery. They represent an important and fundamental element to be integrated as from the early stages of the conception of the machine.
Comitronic (comitronic.net) markets many tamper-proof coded safety switches using an original process (Acotom3), based on an electronic functioning with internal relays which avoids any additional wiring on a safety module. Our solution offers not only a cost effective solution (no more relay needed) but also some approved technical advantages (simplified electrical wiring) and space saved in the electric panel. Its high switching power of both safety lines 2A/48v suits to the majority of the machines in several industries such as packaging, palletising, saw machines, robotics, food industries...

On the market, we commonly found traditional mechanical interlocking devices that requires an exact misalignment, and suffer of a short life time expectancy due to the frequent breaking of the keys or machine vibrations... an other disadvantage is that the actuating holes on the device itself do not comply with the demanding standards of food industry as bacterias can grow up.
The coded contactless solution prevents from all those inconvenient: when energized, the coded bolt will be activated and will be inserted in the coded strike head, which will then detect it and therefore actuate the safety contacts.
To be in safety operation mode and allow the machine to restart, the coded bolt must be inserted in the coded strike head. Our innovative solution guarantees that the door is closed and locked without having to install an extra safety switch. Thanks to the dead bolt there is no mechanical wearing,
therefore the mechanical lifetime expectancy is over 10 000 000 cycles.
No minimum bending radius is needed to install it. Moreover, its smooth and smart design makes cleaning process very easy and quick, as there is no cavity and also a central hole located in the strike head that will quickly release the water.
The housing made in Zamak (Zinc-Aluminium-Magnesium-Copper) is very resistant to indelicate handling and suits heavy doors, commonly used in automotive and steel industry.
Fitted with internal relays, VIGILGUARD reaches the highest safety level PL4e according to ISO EN 13849-1, or cat 4 as per EN954-1 without having to be wired to a safety module. The redundancy of the safety lines, self checked, equipped with a manual reset, and its unlocking system in case of emergency, allows therefore the device to be totally independent and safe.
Easy to wire, the redundant safety lines have a potential free switching power of 2A/48V, and can be directly switched to the engines contactors. The option double M12 inlet is also available, in order to ease a serial wiring installation, and keeping the same safety level. The complete locking chain will be automatically powered within a few seconds of intervals between each device.
When a classical system needs a strong power supply and voltage, VIGILGUARD needs only 96W – 4A as an inrush current for 200ms activation, and then only 5W – 0,2A as a stand by power. This low consumption is used for all the locking chain. Moreover will be errors easily detected: when the power supply is not in the correct range, or when the temperature becomes abnormal, a visual display via the LED is given and the device goes automatically in safe conditions. This integrated safety feature, in addition to a power saving, gives to the switch a 100% duty cycle.
The three LEDs on Vigilguard give to the operators an overview of the state of the switch and allow a ast maintenance:
1) power on/ door unlocked, 2) door locked and 3) eco mode/standby.
Vigilguard can for example be easily connected to a safe-speed controller Speedtronic, to check the option of a motor and authorize then the access to the dangerous area. This solution reaching the safety cat. 4, the highest actually, is a nice solution to secure machines with uncertain and variable inertia, when timing module are not suitable. In comparison with a traditional mechanical system, this solution offers incomparable longer life time expectancy. The only beneficiary will be you, by saving on the maintenance costs, and reducing the down-time of your production lines. When designing this product, efficiency and reliability for the end user have been the key words.
For the tiny access and doors, an other model exists, Anaguard, with a smaller size. Still adding to the advantages of the contactless interlocking, Anaguard can be chosen in a non stand alone version, as well as stand alone, in safety category 2 (cat.4 in connection with a safety relay Awax). Its compact housing in Grivory (Plastic reinforced with glassfiber) makes of it an ideal solution for the daisy chain, up to 30 interlockings on a safety relay.
