Leading number plate dealer Cape Plates has just taken over the lease on new offices based on Collingwood Street, Newcastle. The move represents the latest expansion for the company who are seeking to consolidate their position within the UK market.
Previously based in Gateshead, Cape Plates is a family run business and was founded in 2003. After steady growth in 2004 the company rapidly gained market share through investment in its online platform. More recently, the company has maintained its popularity and gained a reputation for excellent customer service - something the company deliberatly chose to focus on during the recession.
Bob O'Donnell, Director at Cape Plates said "We just felt the time was right to move to new premises. We wanted to be more central and Collingwood Street is perfect. We're just 2 minutes away from all major transport links and we're right in the centre of Newcastle. Obviously we're North East at heart, and we wanted to remain so - but we needed more space and better infrastructure in order to grow our operation, while maintaining our high level of customer service."
While Collingwood Street is increasingly known for its excellent selection of Bars and Restaurants, it is also home to hundreds of successful businesses, and it was this small business community that attracted Cape Plates to the area.
Bob added "This area of Newcastle really has it all. It's very central, is very easy to get to, has a great business community and some great places to eat out. The business community supports the local restaurants and vice versa - it works well for everyone concerned."
With the Christmas and New Year period traditionally very busy for number plate dealers, Cape Plates is looking forward to putting its new infrastructure to the test.
