Best-known for his portrayal of pivotal drug dealer, Jamison Jackson, in Perry's "Diary of a Mad Black Woman," Gary Sturgis returns to play drug dealer, Joseph Woods. Gary Sturgis says he is “excited to work with Perry again” and predicts that the box office trend of Perry’s number one hit films will continue. Daddy’s Little Girls is a reverse-Cinderella tale which centers on a successful attorney (Gabrielle Union) who falls in love with a financially challenged janitor (Idris Elba) who is a single father of three children. The relationship hits a snag when the janitor’s ex-wife comes back into his life with her new man (Gary Sturgis) and threatens to take away their kids.

Daddy's Little Girls is the second Tyler Perry film for bad boy Sturgis. The Lionsgate project is currently shooting in Perry's Atlanta hometown, and is set for release in early 2007. Sturgis most recently co-starred in P.D.R. with Terrence Howard and Bernie Mack. While Sturgis has a host of voice work and two rap albums to his credit, other feature credits include "Diary of a Mad Black Woman," "Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase" and "Virtuosity."
