When Jim Peterik calls his friends for a night jam session, patrons of the McAninch Arts Center (MAC) at College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd. in Glen Ellyn, get to spend an evening with some of the best musicians around.
In a career spanning more than 30 years, Peterik co-wrote songs for .38 Special, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Cheap Trick, Sammy Hagar, Brian Wilson and REO Speedwagon. He also has a successful solo career and draws on his years of experience and musical collaborations to create a unique rotating list of artists for Jim Peterik and World Stage.
The Berwyn native continues that collaboration, bringing a new mix of artists to the MAC Mainstage for an 8 p.m. concert on Saturday, Jan. 23.
Last year’s guests included: Dan Barnes, guitarist and co-lead singer of .38 Special; Kelly Keagy, drummer and singer with Night Ranger; Rik Emmet, singer/songwriter/guitarist and former member of Triumph; Jimi Jamison, fellow Survivor member and writer; and best known for his vocals on “High on You, “Eye of the Tiger” and “I’m Can’t Hold Back;” Chicago-based jazz and R&B guitarist and vocalist Nick Collione; Toby Hitchcock, singer with Peterik’s band Pride of Lions; and Chicago singer/songwriter Lisa McClowery.
Also, concert-goers shouldn’t count out any last-minute additions to the bill. Because when Peterik calls on friends for a jam session, the rock world answers.
Tickets to Jim Peterik and World Stage are $49 for adults, $47 for seniors and $39 for College of DuPage students and children age 17 and younger. First- and second-row tickets also are available.
