Gerard Lee, AIA LEED AP was recently elected as 2010 Vice President on the Board of Directors of the American Institute of Architects East Bay Chapter, at their recent member’s appreciation party held at the Craneway Pavilion in Richmond, on October 21, 2009. He is currently a Director on the Board of Directors and held the position of Chair of the Young Architects Forum in 2007 and 2008.
Gerard believes that being active and serving within the AIA is a far more productive use of his membership dues than merely being a member. He is committed to his profession and believes that by serving within the various committees and on the board of directors is a way of giving back to both the profession and the community. By actively participating, it provides him with an avenue to help shape the future of the AIA for the good of the profession and in turn the communities within which architects practice their profession.
The AIA serves as the voice of the architecture profession and as a resource for its members in service to society. These goals are carried out through advocacy, information, and community. The AIA East Bay is the regional chapter in the Bay Area, and is located in downtown Oakland.
