On October 27, ABC’s Monica Yadar interviewed Grening. According to Grening, ABC News approached him, after several media outlets had picked up the unique story behind the making of the movie. Grening, who resides in Florida, appeared recently on a morning radio show. He was also featured in an article by the Charlotte Sun Newspaper Group, and appeared with the film’s co-producer/director /star, David Stay in several podcasts including iTunes.
Sphere of the Lycanthrope, a family friendly horror film, has been the recipient of 2 best horror feature film awards, as well as being nominated in 3 other categories including Best Actor. It has also created a buzz among film fans because the movie, described by its producers as a “Thrillomody” is, according to ABC’s Ms. Yadar, as well as critics, “widely entertaining.”
After all the buzz, a live television interview was only natural. Yadar’s interview focused on the length of time it took to get the film from beginning to end, the cast size, and the films budget. “The Sphere of the Lycanthrope,” took eighteen years to finish. It was produced on a budget of less than fifteen thousand dollars, despite incorporating over one hundred people and being shot at several different locations, including one in Italy.
The producers of the film are hoping to ride the coat tails of their first hit, into future success. They are currently working on getting a real budget for the sequel, “THE SPHERE of ANTONDIOQUAZGAA.” (a sphere even forbidden to speak) Meanwhile, “The Sphere of the Lycanthrope,” will continue to be screened at film festivals and is available on DVD directly from the producers and various horror film websites.
