June, 2006, Birmingham, Alabama based Key West Inns, Inc. is providing new and enhanced services to its franchisees with the addition of Brian Robinson as Franchisee Success Coach (FSC).
Brian Robinson, a 15 year hospitality industry veteran, has many successful years of hotel management experience, working with such brands as Choice, Intercontinental, Hampton, and Starwood, and will utilize his experience in providing training, guidance, and mentoring to the Key West owners/operators in multiple facets of hotel operations including: revenue management, marketing, sales, guest service, and general operations.
Neal Jackson, President of Key West Inns, said: “We are providing training, support, guidance; resources and coaching to our franchisees so that they may fully understand enjoy, and leverage the rewards of their hotel and franchise investments. By working with the franchisee’s this closely, we are committed to adding value to our franchisee partners that is unrivaled in the industry.”
The FSC will visit each Key West Inn a minimum of once every 45 days, and work continually to develop successful owner/operators, thus improving the image of the individual property, and creating a unified brand.

Key West Inns plans to expand the chain to 50 locations by 2008, focusing on conversion hotels. Key West Inns has made the conversion process very easy for operators of quality independent hotels by providing extremely low entry fees and flexible property improvement programs (PIP.)
Key West Inns, Inc. was founded in 1998 with the first location in Boaz, Alabama. The chain uses the inviting architecture of Key West, Florida. Tin roofs, white ginger bread wood work and soft colors all add to the curb appeal for the chain. The interior of the hotel is lightly accented with a beach condo feel. “Our chain has personality and warmth” says Jackson. “Curb appeal is the number one reason guests choose a Key West Inn.”
Key West Inns has fourteen hotel locations in Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Florida. Recently Key West Inns announced a restructuring of the royalty fees. The new program is a flat fee of $1 per room per day. The license agreement has been changed to a ten year agreement that features an annual franchisee friendly option out if not completely satisfied.
