Panther TEK, a computer troubleshooting and repair company based in Phoenix, along with the internet radio station for cats Cat Galaxy is hosting its annual Holiday Drive For The Felines to collect cat food, litter and other items to help local animal rescue groups get through the holiday season. The company is hoping the public as well as its customers will help them come to the aid of local animal rescue groups that have taken in many cats due to kitten season as well as due to economic reasons.

"Many times we think about helping other humans during the holiday season but we often forget that the animal rescue groups need assistance too. We're seeing plenty of cats that have lost their home due to foreclosure, because their human lost their job or were simply abandoned when they move (from their home or apartment) and fail to take the cat with them. As a result, the animal rescue organizations become overwhelmed because they're taking in so many cats and it makes it tough to care for them,"said Nohl Rosen of Panther TEK.

Rosen who is also a co-owner of Cat Galaxy came up with the idea for the food drive several years ago after seeing that many cats were ending up in shelters due to a heavy kitten season which happens every year from Spring to Summer. He's also hearing from the rescues themselves who are in dire need of cat food and litter.

"A lot of these kittens are being born because the humans fail to spay and neuter their animals. During the holiday season it gets pretty tough on the rescues who are often stretched financially, so every donation can really help. Hopefully, many humans will come out in support of our cause to help the cats," Rosen added.
