The Thurnauer Chamber Music Society opens its 2009-10 concert season on Saturday, December 5 at 8pm. In celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Thurnauer School of Music, the Thurnauer Chamber Music Society will be honoring individuals whose support has been crucial to the success of the Society’s Concert Series. This concert will honor Eva Holzer. Eva and Erich Holzer were major benefactors of the Thurnauer Chamber Music Society from the start, when the ensemble came here in 1993 as the Carnegie Chamber Players. Their consistent generosity and that of the Holzer Foundation made possible the growth and development of the series and has enabled it to become an important part of the cultural life of this area.
There is a pre-concert talk with the artists at 7pm. All events take place in the Eric Brown Theater at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades, 411 East Clinton Avenue in Tenafly.
Members of the Thurnauer Chamber Music Society are distinguished, award-winning performers and recording artists who teach at the Thurnauer School of Music. They are: Sharon Roffman and Annaliesa Place, violin; Yari Bond, cello; Richard Goldsmith, clarinet; and Jon Klibonoff, piano.
