The prestigious IE Business School in Madrid, Spain, has partnered with the global website ExpatWomen.com, to reach out to international women and offer four half-scholarships in the IE Business School’s 2010 Advanced Management Programs.
“At this point in time we are very interested in increasing the percentage of female participants in some of our management programs. We want to attract internationally minded women, to provide them with a lasting, learning experience that they can take back to their workplace and use to really make a difference to their company and career,” explains Yvonne Sanchez, Associate Director of Top Management Programs at the IE Business School.
Yvonne Sanchez’s aim is reinforced by a 2008 report by McKinsey & Company entitled ‘Women Matter 2’, which concludes that, “female leaders and a diversity of leadership styles can give companies a real competitive edge.”
Andrea Martins, director and a co-founder of ExpatWomen.com, describes how the partnership with the IE Business School reinforces Expat Women’s mission to inspire women across the globe.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for women in our network to attend a top international business school with 50 percent of the tuition fees covered by a scholarship. It comes at a time when women are high on the agenda in the business world and have the chance to play an ever-increasingly important role in the corporate environment. Providing access to personal development and leadership opportunities is one way to support this and we encourage all qualified women to apply,” says Andrea.
Applications are invited from qualified women with at least ten to fifteen years of senior management experience and whose work focus is clearly international.
The three English program options where half-scholarship applications are invited are: the Advanced Management Program – Blended; the Advanced Management Program – Intensive; and the Global Senior Management Program, which is run in conjunction with the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
The half-scholarships range in value from €8,450 to €9,450.
All enquiries and applications should be directed to Yvonne Sanchez; E: yvonne.sanchez[.]ie.edu.
The closing date for applications is 30 November 2009.
