Treefrog Veneer, which offers a complete selection real wood veneer laminates, has achieved Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) chain of custody certification (COC #006650). This allows Treefrog Veneer to offer its customers FSC-certified products. The company recently began offering an FSC Collection featuring FSC certified veneer faces on its pre-finished veneer laminates.
Treefrog FSC Collection
Treefrog FSC Collection features five new real wood veneer laminates featuring FSC-certified wood veneers. The veneers, Wengé FSC, Black Oak FSC, Mahogany FSC, Zebrawood FSC and Ebony FSC, are based on popular veneers in Treefrog’s existing collection. They are available now in 4 x 8 foot sheets from Treefrog Veneer and its distributors.
Treefrog and the Environment
Treefrog features composite, or engineered wood. This process sustainably harvests more commonly occurring, fast-growing plantation–grown Italian and African Ayous to create the look, feel and warmth of more exotic and, oftentimes, threatened tree species without having to actually harvest these potentially threatened tree species.
With Treefrog FSC Collection, the company takes it one step further, using fast growing, renewable, FSC-certified Italian Poplar as the base wood.
Treefrog is manufactured in Italy by ALPI, a company recognized as a leader in engineered wood. The products are certified E1, which equates to the lowest level of formaldehyde release recognized by European standards.
