Westartup is a social network that applies co-creation and crowd-sourcing principles to creating new businesses. The site allows young entrepreneurs to share their ideas with each other, give feedback, hammer out business models and fine-tune business plans. The site also pools together relevant content: practical, hands-on information for starting companies, recorded wisdom and experience from successful entrepreneurs.
The site was developed by Smarticles, an up and coming creative digital agency and software foundry. The site had to be presented to the bizcamp audience within a three weeks of development starting. Alex Droscaru CEO of Smarticles said "Delivering the project on-time and budget was a proud moment for Smarticles" he continued "Creating a new social network, with specialist features, wasn't the easiest prospect". The project was presented, in an early-stage alpha release, 3 weeks after it was commissioned.
The Smarticles agency (smarticles.eu) was founded this year, and is in a position for massive growth. Smarticles have set about developing a end-to-end digital agency.
