On 1 October 2009 the approval and innovation of product development for sealing compound BIRKOSIT - Dichtungskitt ® was effected.
New technical management ratios are: temperature resistance up to 900 °C pressure resistance up to 250 bar.
In close cooperation with Siemens Power Generation for the next generations of steam turbines class SGT and gas turbines class SGT.
Project Sales Corp, authorised distributors for India Markets for Birkosit Turbine Sealing Compound, will introduce in Jan 2010 the new formulation of Birkosit designed for temperature resistance up to 900 °C pressure resistance up to 250 bar for the next generations of steam turbines class SGT and gas turbines class SGT. Developed in close cooperation with Siemens, the largest customer for Birkosit worldwide (birkosit-dichtungskitt.com), the product will be the only of its kind that will have a temperature resistance to hot steam and air, hot and cold water, light fuel oils and lubricants, crude oil and natural gas at up to 900 °C and excellent adhesion on sealing surfaces and butt joints to guarantee a perfect seal up to 250 bar. The pressure resistance for flanges without sealing rings is up to 450 bar and even up to 550 bar for screw joints.
Currently no product in the world offers a temperature resistance higher than 650 °C. With the ultra mega power plants, and fuel efficient turbines, driven by the main goals to reduce emissions and preserve our environment for future generations, the new class of turbines will demand a high performance product that Birkosit will deliver.
