Westport, CT, United States, 10/24/2009 - Former Disney animator, Jim George, has created a delightful new website that captures the special relationship between dogs and their owners. Each day the site posts a new cartoon inspired by a real dog, thanks to stories owners submit on the site.

It's been just over 30 days since Jim George and Bruce Kasanoff launched Draw the Dog, and the website has already attracted dog owners from 41 countries to watch George's delightful cartoons that appear to draw themselves.
The pair had been working on an elaborate, full color book project about dogs - requiring a solid year of work - when one morning George woke up with the idea of creating a website with black and white cartoons about dogs. More importantly, he also knew how to "animate" each cartoon so it would appear to draw itself.
"Animation is ridiculously lengthy process, and Jim has been doing it for over two decades," explained Bruce Kasanoff. "With Draw the Dog, Jim figured out a way to make cartoons look animated, but with less than half a day of work."
Their website is simple. Every day except Sunday, they post a new cartoon. Each one is inspired by a real dog, and the dog is named in the caption of the cartoon.
Dog owners submit stories through the Make Your Dog Famous page on the site.
"The best part of this experience," says Jim George, "Are the emails we get back from owners when we write to say today's cartoon was inspired by their dog. They are utterly thrilled. I love the kinds of people who are coming to Draw the Dog. Based upon their emails and comments, they seem like wonderful, down-to-earth folks."
To date, the site has included cartoons about Dobermans, Great Danes, Collies, Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, Bassett Hounds, German Shepherds, Beagles and Boxers. George and Kasanoff are eager to feature other breeds, and look forward to receiving more stories submitted on Draw the Dog (drawthedog.com).
His brief bio on the site says, "Draw the Dog is drawn by Jim George, one of your typical ex-Disney animators who lives near the beach in Venice and once spent years animating in a cabin in the woods and who has been creating characters for film and TV and who has been a director and book author and who also has a counseling practice and who really likes animals and people, too."
Kasanoff is a business strategist who writes, speaks and consults about personalization and innovation.
