Rail Yard Safety Products Online, railyard-safety.com, announces new products added to their online store. We have added several different types of derails, an emergency rail car stopping device. Derails are required by OSHA and the Federal Railroad Administration. See our website for specific regulations pertain to minimum requirements.
Effective derailing depends on proper derail size and installation, normal switching speeds, ample room for derailment, and installation on sound track. Derails prevent unauthorized movement of locomotives or railcars. We offer hinged derails, portable derails, and retractable or sliding derails.
Hinged derails are for freight cars and locomotives on rails 60 lbs or heavier. The derails include a blue flag warning operators of the derail. Our derails are sized to fit a specific height of rail. Our online shop allows you to configure your derail and purchase directly online.
