Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, today announced the availability of a new webinar showcasing the unique benefits of multiplexing technology for mass spectrometrists. The webinar is aimed at mass spectrometry users working in a wide range of disciplines including drug discovery, drug development, food safety, sports doping, clinical research and forensic toxicology environments. The educational webinar is hosted by Thermo Fisher in collaboration with Elsevier, publisher of Journal of the American Society of Mass Spectrometry (JASMS) and the International Journal of Mass Spectrometry (IJMS) and is available to download from October 14, 2009.
Many liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC/MS) users are experiencing budget constraints and require new ways to increase the throughput and maximize flexibility of their mass spectrometry system without compromising data quality or reliability. The upcoming webinar will examine the increasing use of multiplexing for mass spectrometry and provide an overview of different multiplexing approaches. Webinar presenters include John Fink, product manager, liquid chromatography and Jay Brann, director, product development at Thermo Fisher Scientific.
John Fink and Jay Brann will review existing technologies and examine how mass spectrometrists can employ multiplexing solutions to allow increased flexibility, multiple methods and improved data quality. Attendees will learn how to decrease a mass spectrometer’s idle time from 75 percent to four percent while increasing throughput. Presenters will provide an overview of industry technologies that are capable of improving productivity, including the Thermo Scientific Transcend LX-2 multiplexing system.
