Cloud enablement leader, Parallels, put cloud computing at the top of the agenda at its inaugural APAC Summit, held in Singapore on September 25, 2009. The Parallels APAC Summit sets the stage for Parallels’ annual event, which will be held February 22-24, 2010, in Miami, Florida. The APAC Summit offered presentations from sponsors (such as Microsoft, VeriSign, Open-Xchange and Unison), as well as several networking events, including the Singapore Grand Prix. With over 50% of attendees comprised of executive management (CEO, owner, COO or managing director), the conference proved to be an excellent platform for industry leaders to share their vision and strategies on SaaS and cloud-based models.
"With the APAC region, and all of its emerging markets rapidly picking up the pace in IT requirements, the stage has been set for a very competitive hosting environment. Hosting providers are looking for ways to drive efficiencies, virtualize infrastructure and create new products in an effort to maximize revenues," explains Philbert Shih, analyst at Tier1 Research. “Hosting enablement providers that provide technologies designed specifically to solve these kinds of problems will be the big winners in the region. Parallels recent Summit in Singapore showcased a lot of these capabilities, and we look forward to seeing even more innovative solutions at Parallels Summit in the new year.”
“Open-Xchange was delighted to participate in the APAC Summit and is already looking forward to Parallels Summit 2010,” said Rafael Laguna, CEO of Open-Xchange. “Parallels is committed to understanding its partners’ businesses and works effortlessly to deliver innovative solutions that enable hosting providers to be successful.”
With the success of the APAC Summit, Parallels is gearing-up for the Parallels Summit 2010, its fifth annual users’ conference which will be held February 22-24, 2010, at the Fontainebleau in Miami, Florida. Registration for the event is free for Parallels’ partners, customers, invited guests and other industry professionals. This global conference will provide a blueprint to help hosters, telcos, and VARs accelerate services, enable new business models and cut costs.
“Parallels has made significant investments in the APAC region, including establishing our APAC headquarters in Singapore,” said Serguei Beloussov, CEO of Parallels. “With around 1000 customers and 200 strategic partners signed in the region, Parallels is a key strategic player in this space. The APAC Summit showcased the potential revenue streams for cloud services providers in the region, and we are enthusiastically gearing-up for our annual Parallels Summit 2010 in Miami with the theme “Profiting from the Cloud,” where we will unveil strategies to transform IT infrastructure into the cloud.”
