Princeton, NJ, United States, 09/29/2009 - KSS Architects recently completed the interior design of a new Princeton office for Dechert LLP. The international law firm relocated from the Princeton Pike Corporate Center to a 30,000 square-feet-space at 902 Carnegie Center.

Dechert employees and clients had nothing but positive reviews about the space, said Sheila Nall, ASID, principal and director of interior design at KSS. The project was a great experience for KSS as well, she added.
“We were honored Dechert selected us to help strengthen its brand in its new Princeton office,” Nall said.
Dechert moved to a new Princeton office to accommodate their growing staff size as well as changes in the legal profession in data management, security technologies, and the conversion of law libraries into digital format. As one of the top-ranked law firms worldwide, Dechert needed a premier office environment that represented the brand’s high quality and design standards. And they wanted the space quickly.
KSS seized the challenge. In just nine months, they took the renovation project from concept to completion. The aggressive schedule was achievable because the project team strategically phased the permitting process and had experience working with local officials.
“A true team approach--with Dechert leading the charge and its design partner HLW International shepherding the maintenance of the established Dechert branding concepts--was key in meeting the rigorous schedule, budget, function and aesthetics,” Nall said.
Dechert’s new office highlights its Princeton location and community. The reception area opens up to a grand view of the famous college town and landscape. Elegant, light-colored finishes such as marble tile floors and wood and glass work stations balance bold-colored furniture and wall fabrics. The design also inserted brilliant pops of blue, red, orange and yellow in artwork on display walls throughout the entire space, highlighting the law firm’s longtime support for the arts.
Other features include conference rooms equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual systems and a lunch room designed as an inviting and warm cafe with comfortable seating and decorative light fixtures. The design incorporates security features throughout the space to protect the attorneys’ safety and to limit access to war rooms, case file rooms and the law library. The overall effect of the office environment is open, modern and inviting.
