TransOman Expo will be held from 13th to 15th October at the Oman International Exhibition Centre. The Conference will be from 14th to 15th October to be held at the Golden Tulip Hotel Seeb, Muscat.

TransOman, the inaugural transport, shipping and logistics expo organized by Oman International Trade and Exhibitions (OITE) will serve as a convergence point for local and global industry players to make inroads into the Sultanate’s growing transport, shipping and logistics markets.

Sakhi Al Balushi, Chief Executive Officer of Al Madina Logistics Services (AMLS) said “Regional markets offer excellent opportunities with a high percentage of import and export movements. At the moment, AMLS is focusing on Oman market as we see a massive demand for professional and modernized logistics requirements. We are pleased that TransOman is being organized for the first time in the country. The industry is having steady growth with various developments across the transportation, shipping and logistics sectors. Regional market would be our mid-term plan and AMLS sees itself to be able to offer complete supply chain which covers the whole GCC countries”.

AMLS has recently entered into agreement with OICT (Port Sohar) to facilitate full transport services between Sohar Port and Muscat. The agreement also includes a full container yard operations. AMLS likewise entered into agreement with the Oman Cable Industries, a prime cable manufacturer and supplier in Oman, providing transport services towards handling of containerized cargo which has paved the way for numerous business opportunities.

AMLS has prominent projects in the pipeline which include the establishment of Container Freight Station in Barka which will be able to hold 9000 TEU’s. First Phase of 5000 TEUS is in operations. The projects also include 52,000 square meter of Warehouse cum Distribution Centre with multiple temperature regimes; 15,000 sq. meter of Warehouse within 15km from Ghala Industrial Estate; 150,000 sq. meter of open yard within Muscat and another 280,000 sq. meter throughout the region.

The company will also have additional fleet for expansion, approximately 300 vehicles for serving Oman market and specialized industry liquefied petrochemical transportation.

As Oman is currently in the stage of developing itself towards becoming a more quality and information technology responsive market, innovative products and services are set to meet the industry’s growing demands and service parameters.
