As Emma Sells from Elle UK said: “Striking the perfect balance between feminine and cool, the new (designer clothing) collection takes its inspiration from the once iconic label's archive”.
Designer dresses, parkas and perfectly detailed blouses have all been designed to fit perfectly together. Designers have chosen the silk, sporty, designer parka as the favourite in this beautiful collection.
The Modernist, however, is just a beginning in Ghost’s new fashion adventure. Abdul and Andrew told Elle UK that 'this collection was really just brushing the dust off. We need a couple more to really get our teeth into it.' Ghost’s current customers will also find the collection exciting and a trend for mother-daughter shopping is not that far on the horizon.
"The Ghost brand has been around for 25 years and has an incredibly huge heritage. Women have always related to the ease of the clothes and this has been the main focus - moving the brand forward without forgetting the past," says Koroma about the new women’s clothing range.
Abdul then adds: "The washed feel of Ghost’s vintage clothes has been kept but this is a totally modern, streamlined proposition that fuses the Modernist aesthetic with that of Ghost to create a new, fresh voice that has every woman at heart."
Ghost (ghost.co.uk) is a London fashion house producing contemporary, affordable luxury clothing. 'Ghost's new collection' is brought to us by fashion writer, Alice Fisher in The Guardian's, Observer Magazine.
'Sometimes it's possible to have too much of a good thing. While everyone likes a flattering bit of floaty material and draping, British label Ghost has become defined by its penchant for waft and whimsy. Now, thanks to a collaboration with design duo Abdul Koroma and Andrew Jones from revered label Modernist, it looks like Ghost has risen from the dead. They have kept the label's trademark crepes and satins, but modernised the designs, injecting a bit of oomph and edge to the new 30-piece designer clothing collection. Black silk leggings from Ghost – who'd have thought it? A delicate bird print that will fly off the shelves (pun intended) and dress after (always a Ghost staple) but with smart details and great silhouettes. “The washed vintage feel of clothes has been kept, but this is totally modern, streamlined proposition that fuses the modernist aesthetic with that of Ghost to create a new, fresh voice that has every woman at heart,” says Koroma. We couldn't agree more.'
