Construction for a new Comfort Inn Suites hotel is now underway in Lodi. The 89 unit hotel will be located east of Highway 99 at Kettleman Lane.
“Our goal was to set ourselves apart from the competition and offer something different from the rest,” said Beth Kim, Owner and Project Manager of the new Comfort Inn Suites. The new hotel will feature a “Hospitality Room,” which will host various groups and will also offer complimentary wine tasting. This concept in a hotel will be a first in the area.
Project financing is being provided by Community Business Bank. In working through the process, Kim worked directly with the Bank’s loan officers, Scott Meyer and Jim Harris. After receiving financing support, the project broke ground on June 16, 2008. “We are really pleased to be part of this project,” stated Meyer. “As a local community bank, we look for opportunities to be involved in projects that also support the economic growth of the area,” said Meyer.
“Scott and Jim were great guys to work with and provided a personal feel throughout the process,” stated Kim. The whole process was quick, easy, friendly and almost painless,” joked Kim. According to Kim, the hotel has a target completion date of April 15, 2009, as May is normally the kick off into the high season for the Lodi area. Kim’s family has been in the motel business since 1989.
