Fader Pro, producers of The Art of the Remix interactive training course, have teamed up with the School of Audio Engineering (SAE) to offer an exclusive 30% discount to students and alumni on all of the school’s 52 campuses throughout the world.

The Art of the Remix is a comprehensive remixing course taught by multi-platinum remixer/producer Vincent DiPasquale, together with world-renowned DJ, producer, and remixer Steven Lee. It includes more than 3 hours of video instruction and covers every aspect of remixing from dissecting the original song, the importance of tempo, time-stretching vocals, the beat and bass, to the creative aspects of remixing like creating feature and accent keyboard parts, understanding song and vocal arrangement, and creating energy, all culminating in the finished mix.

This special promotion furthers a close relationship of the Fader Pro and SAE, who together have hosted several successful events in recent months. The two held joint events at the 2009 Winter Music Conference in Miami, which included live remixing workshops, panel discussions with industry notables such as Jimmy Douglass and Dirty Vegas, and live music featuring Nadi Ali and her hit “Crash and Burn”, which The Art of the Remix course is built upon. The success of the Winter Music Conference led to Di Pasquale giving a series of live demos and seminars based of The Art of the Remix course at SAE’s Los Angeles campus.

“SAE has been incredibly supportive of remixing as an art as well as its own production genre,” said DiPasquale. “We are grateful for the opportunity to have the endorsement of the biggest music production school in the world and are showing our appreciation with this exclusive offer to their students and alumni.”

A former SAE student himself, DiPasquale credits the school with helping him launch his career, beginning with a stint with Lauren Hill and leading to a position at the Hit Factory/Criteria in Miami. After engineering several high profile projects, SAE invited Di Pasquale back for a series of production seminars where he began laying the groundwork for The Art of the Remix. In 2009, DiPasquale teamed up with DJ/Producer Steven Lee in the studio for Nadi Ali’s hit “Crash and Burn”, which became the project used to demo the techniques found in the training course.

The Art of the Remix is designed for new or experienced remixers, producers, engineers, or musicians who want to learn the inside secrets to getting big sounding remixes on any digital audio workstation. The course is available to stream over the web or on DVD.

SAE students and alumni can order through the SAE store with their student ID and password.
