Isaac de la Peña, Head of Nokia’s Internet Strategic Initiatives, will be discussing the opportunities and challenges in the mobile media marketplace at the Mobile Content Conference & Awards 2009, to be held September 9-11 at the COEX in Seoul, Korea. The event is supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Maeil Business newspaper and organized by the Korea Creative Content Agency and the Korea Internet Corporations Association.
Joining Mr. de la Peña in presenting are Zane Moi, Research in Motion’s Regional Director for Asia Pacific; Hal Steger, Funambol’s Vice President of Worldwide Marketing; Masaaki Ohara, Mobile Content Forum’s Office Director General & Secretariat; Ben Whitaker, Masabi’s COO; among many others. Prominent Korean companies such as Samsung, LG Telecom and SK Broadband will also be presenting at the Mobile Content 2009 Conference. This year, the conference theme is "Mobile Content Open Market & Mobile Convergence." The conference will be a place to share information on the mobile content open market, which is currently at the center of the mobile content industry and is also driving the future direction of the development of the domestic industry.
In addition to the conference, the winners of this year’s Mobile Content Awards will be announced after the 2nd screening at the Awards Ceremony, which will be held at the COEX Intercontinental Hotel on September 10. Out of 100 submissions from 11 countries such as America, Canada, Japan and Jordan, 19 nominees were selected by a panel of nine judges consisting of mobile professionals from around the world. An exhibition hall will also be arranged for demonstrations of the 19 nominations during Mobile Content 2009.
