Russell Bedford International has strengthened its coverage in Eastern Europe by welcoming Degression Group LLC and Dobson Analytic LLC as the worldwide accounting group's first member firms in Kiev, Ukraine.
Degression Group was founded as a financial audit firm in 2001.In 2004 a legal services and tax consulting department was opened; and in 2007, the firm added IFRS reporting to its range of services. The firm is owned by Marina Karpenko and Andrey Goncharuk.
Marina Karpenko is a specialist in financial statement auditing, tax accounting and Ukrainian taxation. She studied finance at Kiev National University and jurisprudence at Kiev International University. She has an audit certificate issued by the Ukrainian Chamber of Auditors, she is a certified internal auditor and a certified arbitrator, and she is a member of the Guild of Professional Internal Auditors of Ukraine.
Andrey Goncharuk is a graduate of Kiev National University of Trade and Economics, specialising in finance. He has an ACCA diploma in IFRS and is head of the firm’s IFRS department, dealing with the compilation, consolidation, preparation and editing of IFRS statements.
Dobson Analytic was founded in 2000 and provides asset appraisals and valuations together with accounting and bookkeeping services. The owners of the firm are Svetlana Slugina and Anatoly Slugin.
The general manager, Svetlana Slugina, has some 16 years’ experience as an auditor. She has degrees from Kiev University and the International Academy of Personnel Administration, and she is a certified auditor, certified appraiser, member of the Ukrainian Association of Professional Appraisers, and member of the Guild of Professional Internal Auditors of Ukraine.
In total the two firms have some 40 personnel and 260 clients in sectors such as agro-industry, building and construction, transport, food production, financial services, medicine, oil and gas, and foreign investments in land and property.
