The announcement was made early last month by Regional Vice President for Northern California, Ron Bushman. The contract, which Veolia Transportation has operated for the last 18 years, is administered by the Butte County Association of Governments (BCAG) and provides both fixed route and paratransit services.
Before moving to the Chico location, Power was Assistant General Manager for Veolia Transportation, managing transit operations in Tucson, Arizona for the company’s Professional Transit Management (PTM) division. While in this role he was responsible for Sun Tran fixed route bus service and Van Tran paratransit operations.
Prior to joining Veolia Transportation Power held positions as Executive Director of Belle Urban Transit in Racine, Wisconsin and President and CEO of Grand Valley Transit in Grand Junction, Colorado.
In making the announcement Bushman said, “Ralph has had a lot of experience with complex and growing transit operations. I believe his experience and abilities will bring great benefit to Chico and our operations as we continue to grow, improve and expand the services that we provide through BCAG.”
Power, who has been in the transportation industry for more than 15 years, holds a Bachelors degree in finance and administration and an MBA degree in international business, both from the University of Southern Colorado.
