Acclaimed photographer Duane Cramer's launches his first nationwide exhibition, entitled ELEGANT, with the support of San Francisco-based Kimpton Hotel Group. Kimpton is known for its collection of stylish boutique hotels and restaurants. Founded in 1981, the company currently operates 39 hotels and restaurants across the United States and Canada. Kimpton's combination of boutique-style, four-star service and an adjacent destination restaurant has proven a great success. These popular pairings include the fashionable Hotel Monaco Seattle with Sazerac restaurant, the historic Hotel Burnham and Atwood Cafe in Chicago, and the sophisticated Hotel Palomar with its award-winning Fifth Floor restaurant in San Francisco. Kimpton's signature elements are care, comfort, style, flavor and fun. It was only fitting that the Kimpton Hotel Group would support an artist whose work embraces similar ideals.
Cramer's photographs are noted for their simplicity, style, and character. Each image uncovers an aspect of the subject that is beyond what might be expected. That would easily explain why Cramer has quickly become the photographer of choice for many international superstars, politicians, and top models.
Duane Cramer has been compared to photography masters- Gordon Parks, Patrick Demarchelier and Herb Ritts. It is easy to understand why his work has appeared in international publications such as Harper's Bazaar, Io Donna (Italy), Blue (Australia), Manner Auktell (Germany), The Advocate, and Pink Magazine.
Cramer has captured the images of notable celebrities such as Keith Boykin, Rockmond Dunbar, Marco Filiberti, Ari Gold, Jessye Norman, Freda Payne, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Reichen, Mary Wilson and Michelle Wolff. As a published fashion photographer, Cramer's work has featured style-notables such as RuPaul, Brooke Shields and Italian actress Maria Grazia Cucinotta. He has also photographed images of several prominent politicians including San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, Honorable Willie L. Brown Jr., and Honorable Congressman Ronald V. Dellums. In 2004, he was commissioned to take the official portrait of then Mayor Willie L. Brown Jr. currently hanging in City Hall.
In addition to being a talented photographer, Cramer is also an active member of his community. He serves as the Vice President of Frameline, the largest and oldest LGBT Film Festival/visual arts organization in the world, and also dedicates his time to the Black AIDS Institute. VOX ® Vodka and Out magazine were proud to award up-and-coming photographer Duane Cramer with the VOX/Out Emerging Voices of Style + Design Award in December 2005. One of five honorees nationwide, Cramer was nominated by his peers and selected by the editors of Out magazine and a prestigious panel of past VOX/Out recipients. He has also filmed segments for VH1's "Totally Gayer", and "Inside the City Limits" (San Francisco) celebrating Black History Month.

ELEGANT is a traveling USA exhibition of Duane Cramer’s photographic works. It includes black and white images of male and female nudes, architectural elements from around the globe and some recognizable international personalities. All of the photographs displayed are limited edition 16”X20” silver gelatin prints that have been selenium toned. All prints are signed verso in pencil by the artist.
