The Swarup Family has been a pioneer in promoting the Sugar and Alcohol industry in North India, especially in Uttar Pradesh. Sir Shadilal Distillery & Chemical Works, the Company’s distillery unit was set up in 1960. Since then, the Company has established itself as a key player with a distinct identity in the alcohol and distillery business.
One of the key promoters of SVP Industries Ltd., Mr. Ajay K. Swarup, an IIM-C alumnus, who is also the Company’s President, following the family tradition joined SVP in 1981.
Mr. Ajay K Swarup has been associated with SVP industries for over 25 years and is in-charge of business development, having hands on experience on all other aspects of distillery business also.
The Company has its manufacturing facilities at Mansurpur, in Muzaffarnagar district, in western Uttar Pradesh. This region is a well-known hub for availability of molasses, which is the main raw material currently.
SVP, over the years, has enjoyed a steady growth. It is perceived very well within the industry on account of its own established country liquor brands, as well as other leading brands in the IMFL segment for which SVP has strategic manufacturing and bottling-tie-ups. The Company has tie-ups and arrangements for bottling IMFL products with India’s largest liquor company who also purchases large amount of bulk spirit from SVP’s facilities.
