CPA firm Mungarrieta & Asociados has joined the Russell Bedford global accounting group, becoming a member of the newly-launched Russell Bedford Venezuela national network.
Mungarrieta & Asociados is a four-partner firm, with its head office in Valencia, a large industrial city 150km from the capital, Caracas. It was founded by Adolfo Mungarrieta in 1972 as a firm of independent public accountants. In 2000, Augusto Mungarrieta, son of the founder, joined the firm and helped to expand its range of services to include financial audit, tax and consulting. In 2008, Pedro Pacheco and Pedro Conde also joined as partners.
All the partners are members of the Colegio de Contadores Públicos del Estado Carabobo (College of Public Accountants of the State of Carabobo).
Adolfo Mungarrieta is a public accountant with some 46 years of professional experience. Before founding his firm, he was a manager in one of the country’s leading banks. His specialist areas are finance, accounting and management.
Augusto Mungarrieta has more than 17 years of professional experience including some eight years with a Big-4 firm as a senior auditor. He has a master’s degree in tax management and is a specialist in tax and auditing.
Pedro Pacheco has a master’s degree in accounting science and some 20 years’ professional experience, mainly as a senior financial controller in industry. He specialises in tax and auditing. Pedro manages the firm’s branch office in the city of Maracay.
Pedro Conde has specialist expertise in management, auditing and accounting. He has 12 years of professional experience, mainly in operational management roles in industry.
The partners are supported by around 20 permanent staff and additional personnel on short-term contracts as necessary.
The client base comprises government entities and private businesses in sectors such as construction, electrical maintenance, agriculture, fisheries and the food industry. The firm is registered with the Superintendencia de Cajas de Ahorro – the national regulator of banks and savings institutions.
Mungarrieta & Asociados will be a joint member of Russell Bedford International alongside the long-standing Caracas member, Hurtado Esteban & Asociados. There are plans to develop the network in due course to cover other important business locations in Venezuela.
