One of those donors, Stephen J. Kipp, is a third generation resident of Ventura County. As president and CEO of Kipp Financial Group in Ventura, Kipp provided Oxnard resident Tiffany J. Hamlin with a Future Leaders Scholarship.

Hamlin, a recent graduate of Pacifica High School, is the first recipient of Kipp’s business scholarship. The award allowed Hamlin to complete all of her prerequisites at Ventura College before continuing her university studies.

“This gift of education from Kipp Financial Group brings with it a bright future filled with great opportunities,” Hamlin said. “I am planning on attending the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California in the fall to continue my studies.”

“Contributions to Ventura College Foundation go to support student scholarships and the Ventura College Promise program which covers first year enrollment fees for all new county high school graduates,” said Norbert Tan, Executive Director of the Ventura College Foundation. “Funds also are directed to educational enrichment grants for staff; and other campus programs and services. One hundred percent of every donation goes exactly where it’s designated with no fees or overhead deducted. In the difficult economy, Ventura College students need this support now more than ever.”
