Indusface today announced that Brian O’Higgins, an internationally renowned cyber security professional has joined its advisory board. Brian, an executive with over 20 years as a leader in security technology development for enterprise and government customers is best known for his role in pioneering PKI (Public Key Infrastructure). Brian was the co-founder and CTO (Chief Technology Officer) of Entrust, a leading internet security company, and was also the co-founder and CTO of Third Brigade, a provider of security products for physical and virtualized servers that was acquired by Trend Micro in early 2009.

Brian's visionary and pragmatic approach to security has made him a frequent presenter at security and industry events around the globe. In 2008, he was appointed as a delegate to contribute to the Global Cyber security Agenda of the International Telecommunications Union. In the past he has established the Secure Networks group within Nortel in 1993, and was instrumental in spinning-out this group as an independent company, Entrust, in 1997. Some of the great achievements of Brian during his initial days of career include prototyping the world’s first ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) telephone, design of in-building wireless communications systems and high performance computing architectures for digital telephone switches. Brian also led the development of the world’s first commercial data communications equipment to incorporate public-key security technology.
On joining the Indusface advisory board, Brian said, “As an advisor to Indusface, I hope that my collective experience in the domain of information security will be of value and serve as an asset to the company as it scales to meet the growing demand for solutions to combat security threats”. Brian’s current list of affiliations includes advisory board positions with Defence R&D Canada, Information Technology Association of Canada, Ontario Centers of Excellence, and the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association. In addition, he serves on the boards of Recognia and Fischer International, and is an advisor to several other companies.
