The Indiana Small Business Development Center (ISBDC) in partnership with AVID Commerce, announced today that clients can now have access to a Strategic Opportunity Analysis Report (SOAR) to help businesses identify Internet threats and opportunities in a strategic context.
“SOARs give ISBDC clients a chance to review their business’ online presence and review steps toward growing an online market,” said Jeff Heinzmann, State Director for the ISBDC. “Entrepreneurs looking to create real growth can utilize SOARs to improve their business plan.”
Each report consists of a six part strategic opportunity analysis. First, AVID determines specific characteristics of the online market for a business. Next, key search terms are used to find products and services offered by the business and identify competitors. Competitor strengths and competencies are evaluated and a strategic plan is developed to try to expand the client company’s market share. SOARs also include an outline of resources necessary to implement the newly developed strategic plan and additional recommendations on improving existing website and online marketing efforts.
“We’re pleased to work with ISBDC to provide our Internet focused strategic analysis to their clients,” said Stephen Antisdel, Managing Director of AVID Commerce. “Our SOAR study looks at a company’s competitive advantage in the context of the online channel and helps to define the nature of the opportunity and the threat.”
Under the new partnership, ISBDC clients will now have access to an AVID Commerce SOAR study at a significant discount to the normal $3,000 fee.
