Responding to suggestions and requests from working adults benefiting from its life coaching services, Tateworks LLC is now offering a new Begin and Succeed™ program to help troubled at-risk teens change direction in their lives through techniques aimed at helping them develop self-esteem, self-discipline and self-respect, Tateworks founder and CEO Sandra B. Tate announced today.
Begin and Succeed™ is designed for secondary school populations with a strong focus on at-risk and special needs students, Ms. Tate said. It utilizes one-on-one coaching, personal strategy and support services available via compact discs, study guides, planners and online audio downloads for iPods, MP3 players to help teens focus on real-world problems and develop the means and structures to address them.
“Tateworks was founded in 2003 to help adults overcome the barriers to success in their work and personal lives, and in recent months a number of clients who have benefited from our services have suggested or asked if we could make similar services available for young people on the verge of dropping out of school or – even worse – turning to drugs or gangs as a means of coping with their problems,” she said.
“Since last fall, the struggling economy has put a lot of people out of work, and that has exacerbated a lot of the pressures and problems experienced by teens as well as adults,” she continued. “Begin and Succeed™ is our response to help troubled youth and their parents identify and cope with the many and varied challenges they face.
“Adults need to keep in mind that many of today’s at-risk youth feel helpless and see their options for success limited by personal factors, a lack of marketable skills and no sense of direction in charting a course for ultimate success in both the professional and personal aspects of a purpose-driven life,” Ms. Tate said.
“We want to teach these young people how to feel empowered. They must recognize the control they have over their daily lives, and Begin and Succeed™ will provide them with the motivational tools necessary to foster the support, encouragement and self-confidence they need.”
Ms. Tate said the service will help teens deal with challenges in their everyday lives and understand their responsibilities in looking to the future, including such basics as developing an ideal job resume and applying for college scholarships.
Begin and Succeed™ is available for individuals and groups, and it can be customized according to the various needs, budgets and schedules of participants.
