The Brake Team franchise of Portland has been purchased by two brothers Patrick and Philip Walby, also known as the Brake Brothers, from San Diego, California,. Their unique, customer-friendly management style has been incorporated at all Portland-area Brake Team locations since November 2008.
According to Patrick Walby, co-owner of Brake Team, “Brake Team has undergone a very thorough image and management overhaul to let our customers know that we care about them and that they can trust us. We wanted to make sure that all stores are operating at the expected level of excellence before the news broke.”
For nearly 20 years, the Brake Brothers have generated a reputation of high customer service and a focus on customer education. They were voted the Number One Best Brake Shop in San Diego and awarded the Total Excellence in Management Award by Ken Blanchard, author of the One Minute Manager.
Patrick and Philip Walby achieved the favorite brake shop designation in San Diego with a 99.5 percent approval rating. The Brake Brothers have repaired nearly one million vehicles.
“Brake Team is excited to be in Portland and is going to help raise the bar for other shops to provide higher quality service to their customers. We plan on getting more involved in the community because it is important to give back to the community that helps your business grow,” stated Patrick Walby.
Brake Team’s community involvement is evidenced by the Leukemia Society nominating Patrick Walby for Man of the Year due to his exceptional fundraising efforts.
