Registration begins at 8:30am for this 3rd annual event, which will take place at Behrman Stadium located at 2529 General Meyer Boulevard, New Orleans.
The City of New Orleans and New Orleans Recreation Department have partnered with Royal and Clark in their mission to empower the city’s youth through the camp’s positive mentoring which falls in line with the City’s motto: "Rethink, Renew, Revive".
350 campers ages 7-16 will enjoy a free, full day of activities, including agility drills, offensive and defensive fundamentals and much more. Royal and Clark will be joined by several of their NFL colleagues and professional cheerleaders, who support them in their mission to inspire and give back.
NFL players slated to attend include Antonio Pierce (New York Giants), Ike Taylor, Keenan Lewis, Mike Wallace and Keyaran Fox (Pittsburgh Steelers) Anthony Smith (Green Bay Packers), Marcus Washington, Rock Cartwright and Fred Smoot (Washington Redskins), Angelo Crowell and Marcus Stroud (Buffalo Bills), Patrick Surtain and Dwayne Bowe (Kansas City Chiefs) George Wilson (Buffalo Bills), LaRoi Glover (St. Louis Rams), Robert Mitchum and Leigh Torrence (New Orleans Saints) and others to be announced.
Campers will be treated to a McDonald’s ‘Breakfast of Champions”, snacks and fresh fruit from Whole Foods, lunch from Raising Canes, great gift bags and opportunities for autographs, photos and Q&A with the NFL players.
“Ryan and I are from this area and know firsthand the issues that the youth here face each day. We want these kids to see that all it takes to better their situation is hard work and motivation.” Royal added “We both vowed that if we ever achieved our dream of playing in the NFL, we would come back and make a difference in the lives of the youth in the city we love!”
