V Festival is now in its 14th year and was the first UK festival to operate over two counties and swap line-ups overnight. V Festival has almost 200,000 registered users, and has hired de-construct to extend interest beyond the physical event by engaging the event’s growing digital community and encouraging a festival buzz all year-round.
de-construct will manage the digital communications for the event, including the development of the website, addition of further media sales opportunities, promotion of event content and streaming the event online during the event weekend.
Phase one of the agency’s focus is to build a content-rich digital festival destination, offering users a deeper level of engagement and more reasons to visit online. Community enhancements will be the focus of future developments, offering users a festival forum, richer profile functionality and enhanced image and video galleries. The site will be complemented by live twitter feeds and news updates aggregated by Cake Group along with artist content.
de-construct will work closely with V Festival’s newly appointed digital sales house W00t Media, an entertainment focused media agency, who will be responsible for the commercial proposition of the site. In partnership with V Festival, de-construct will work with woot to develop bespoke site takeovers and sponsorship opportunities before, during and post event, which are expected to be extremely popular again considering the V Festival site achieved over 10 million impressions during August last year. Advertising and site sponsorship will go live on the website from July.
Dawn Woodhouse, V Festival co-ordinator says: “We’ve come a long way with our digital presence over the past year and are confident that de-construct will allow us to develop a digital community to rival any in the festival world. Our festivalgoer’s visit the website all year round and our vision is to offer them the content and functionality to keep them excited and engaged. We want them to have a community that’s the next best thing to going to V Festival event itself.”
Paul Glossop, director of business development, de-construct says: "I’ve always been very passionate about the growth and development of the V Festival website. I’ve worked with Dawn and her team for many years and I’m thrilled that they have selected de-construct to take V Festival into a new digital era. The team at de-construct have the perfect mix of creativity and ability to bring V Festival’s digital persona to life, and we’re going to have a lot of fun making it happen.”
