The Tarheel Golf Foundation has announced that the 2010 Robert Trent Jones Junior Championship will return to the Lake Course at Carolina Trace Country Club in Sanford, NC on April 24-25, 2010. "The 2009 Robert Trent Jones Junior Championship attracted a field that included some of the countries elite junior golfers and we expect the field to be stronger in 2010", stated Eric Murray, tournament director. The 2009 list of entrants included multiple Junior World Championship title holders, multiple Future Masters Champions, Multiple US Kids World Championships winners, multiple AJGA title holders and state champions. The event is the premier spring junior event in the southeast. The Championship is open to junior golfers ages 18 and under that have not yet started college.
The 2010 Robert Trent Jones Junior Championship at Carolina Trace Country Club in Sanford, NC is just minutes north of Pinehurst in the North Carolina Sandhills and is conveniently located to Raleigh Durham International Airport and Interstate 95. The Lake Course at Carolina Trace is a Robert Trent Jones, Sr. masterpiece that blends both the natural beauty of springtime in North Carolina and the challenge of championship golf. The 2009 field included winners of the Callaway Junior World Championships, US Kids World Championship, Future Masters Champions, State Junior Champions and winners of multiple AJGA events. The 2009 Champion, Andrew Knox, is eligible to return to defend his title. Knox recently won the North Carolina Junior Championship. Also expected to compete is three time Callaway Junior World Champion and 2009 North & South Junior Champion Grayson Murray. Other International and National event champions have participated in the past and are expected to return for the 2010 event.
