Tickets for the Women’s Sports Talk Radio Lady Legends Charity Basketball Classic game are now on sale at the event website as Woodland Middle School and Women’s Sports Talk Radio™ announce plans to host this historic event.
The weekend will feature a series of festive events and is expected to raise enough money to meet the primary goals of awarding (1) $500 scholarship to a Woodland Middle School Student and (4) $125 grocery vouchers to East Point and Atlanta area families in need. The Women’s Sports Talk Radio will host this event in Atlanta, Georgia, Aug 14 - 15, 2008. The event lineup includes an Adult Fantasy Camp, a Meet & Greet Mixer, a Basketball Clinic for Kids, Post Event After Party and a Charity Basketball Game that will feature fun and entertaining competition between the Conyers Conquerors and some of the most decorated legends of women’s basketball. The showcase event will be held at Woodland Middle School on August 15 at 2:00 pm.
The Women’s Sports Talk Radio™ Lady Legends Charity Classic (ladylegendscharityclassic.com) will feature Hall of Famers Lynette Woodard and Katrina McClain, Olympians and future Hall of Famers, Teresa Weatherspoon Kym Hampton and Ruthie Bolton, former WNBA All-Stars Andrea Stinson and Adrienne Goodson, former WNBA Champions from the Houston Comets Fran Harris and Tammy Jackson and Atlanta’s own Rushia Brown, Linda Burgess and 5-time Olympian, future Hall of Famer Teresa Edwards.
This historic game is a one of a kind event for women’s professional basketball. It will showcase the finest in women’s basketball entertainment and will have fans on the edge of their seats as former women’s basketball legends, all-stars and Olympians tip off at Woodland Middle School. Game tickets start at $10. Proceeds from the Women’s Sports Talk Radio’s Lady Legends Charity Classic will benefit youth and families in the Atlanta and East Point communities through the Women’s Sports Alliance Foundation.
The Lady Legends along with the Women’s Sports Talk Radio™ will host a basketball clinic for kids that incorporates basketball skill development with life skill principles. Kids who participate will have an opportunity to learn basketball skills from members of the Lady Legends team and area coaches. The clinic takes place on the floor of Woodland Middle School gym on Aug 15, 2008 beginning at 9:30 am and is open to youth ages 5-18.
The Women’s Sports Talk Radio™ (womenssportstalkshow.com) will also host a Fantasy Camp for adults ages 18 -99+ on Friday August 14, 2009 beginning at 9:30 am at the Hapeville Recreation Center in Hapeville, Georgia.
