“We are very excited to welcome Joel to our board,” said Linda Gann, Executive Director of the JDRF Indiana Chapter. “Over the past year Joel’s support has been phenomenal. He has been an active and passionate participant in our fundraising activities so it was a natural progression to add him to our board. As an entrepreneur who has built a successful business, Joel also brings business insight and a connection to the corporate community that will be instrumental in helping us achieve our development goals in the coming year. His leadership skills and entrepreneurial spirit are a great addition to the organization.”
Mr. Russell has been active with the JDRF since 2007, when his then three-year-old son was diagnosed with type 1 (juvenile) diabetes. Since that time he has been a regular supporter of the JDRF through events such as the Ride to Cure Diabetes, the Swing for a Cure Golf Outings, the Walk to Cure Diabetes and the annual Promise Gala. In 2008, he joined the JDRF Corporate Development Committee, which is tasked with increasing awareness of the organization’s mission within the business community and attracting corporate sponsorship of JDRF events. His personal goal is to help find a cure for type 1 diabetes in his son’s lifetime.
