With an expressive display of colorful graphics, a new OSHA and ANSI safety signs poster is available free for a limited time from Graphic Products, Inc.
“The safety poster is designed like a concert poster to attract attention and make it fun to read,” said Steve Hudgik, corporate marketing manager at Graphic Products. “So far, this design has been popular among our customers.”
The 18” x 24” safety poster is a numbered, limited edition poster aimed at helping workers understand signal words on safety signs in the workplace. It explains how the signal words "DANGER," "CAUTION," "NOTICE," and “SAFETY FIRST” indicate unique hazard situations and illustrates compliant color usage for each type of signal word. Safety signs displayed on the poster reflect the very latest in ANSI Z535 standards (layout of header, safety symbol, and message panel) and include informative captions explaining ANSI requirements for sign making.
“As companies strive to survive in this tough economy, workplace safety has become recognized as not only important for employee safety, but as an effective means of keeping costs low and improving company image and employee morale. And not surprisingly, people are searching the Internet for OSHA-related at a much higher volume last in the past—a sure sign OSHA and ANSI compliance in the workplace is being observed more acutely.”
A signal word for one type of warning sign, a biohazard warning, is described on the poster in the following manner, as paraphrased from a definition on OSHA’s official website, osha.org.
“The biohazard symbol indicates a special class of warning sign, calling attention to the risk to health and life by the possible presence of a biological hazard, and identifies places or things that may contain hazardous agents, and indicates special protection required.”
Only 2,500 copies of the safety poster will be made. Valued at $19.95, they are available free on a first-come, first served basis.
The OSHA and ANSI safety signs poster is the third OSHA guide released by Graphic Products this year. Two other highly popular OSHA guides are already available from Graphic Products: The “Top 10 OSHA Violations of 2008” guide and the “OSHA Safety Signs Best Practice Guide."
