Miller’s primary duties involve managing TransEnterix’s rapid prototype development operations. The company is developing a revolutionary single-incision, single-port, multi-channel laparoscopic surgical platform that will allow a surgeon to remove a patient's gall bladder and perform other abdominal surgeries without leaving a visible scar. Fewer complications, faster full recovery and an improved cosmetic result are potential benefits of the new technology.
TransEnterix relies on rapid prototyping, intense pre-clinical labs and hands-on collaboration with expert surgeons who provide input into device development to accelerate the company’s learning and allow it to bring a device to market more quickly.
It is Miller’s responsibility to integrate prototype improvements in a way that will ensure the final product’s large-scale manufacturability.
