Collective won the Secret Millionaire contract in a competitive pitch against two other agencies. It will design and deliver all the assets for a bespoke website where people can apply for lottery funds, nominate projects for funding, and vote for the most deserving applicant.
The show’s producers have teamed up with the Big Lottery Fund (BIG) for the fourth series of the award-winning format to show people how straightforward it is to apply for lottery money.
Lottery funding worth £1 million will be awarded in grants of up to £10,000 across the UK. For a chance to secure lottery funding, interested parties can visit the Secret Millionaire website to find out if their community group is eligible, or to nominate a local good cause. Groups can then download an application form and apply to BIG’s Secret Millionaire Fund.
Successful applicants may then be selected for filming by Channel 4 and appear on the website or TV programme. People can also showcase their favourite local cause on an interactive map of the UK as well as donating time or money.
Garret Keogh, RDF digital cross platform director says: “Secret Millionaire has been a phenomenally successful show, and with the current series our primary aims are to not only entertain our audience but also to engage with them in new ways, while showing them how the lottery funding process works. We believe that Collective has the right creative expertise to ensure that fun and funding blend perfectly, across an integrated multi-platform approach.”
Greg Doone, managing director of Collective says: “We were particularly pleased to win this commission because we feel it one of the most creative concepts that television has produced. The combination of the Big Lottery Fund and Channel 4 shows that TV is going way beyond its boundaries – and we are very experienced in pushing creative to the limits. It’s also great to be involved in concepts that not only entertain but are also of benefit to local communities.”
