London, United Kingdom, 06/04/2009 - Digital engagement agency Kerb today announces the launch of a browser-based game that promotes one of Warner Bros/Sire’s hottest chart properties, The Veronicas.

Kerb won the commission from Warner Bros in a competitive pitch with four other agencies and has delivered the Flash mini-game to mark the release of the Australian pop duo’s new single, ‘Untouched’. The game, which is live on the Veronica’s website now, also promotes the new album, ‘Hook Me Up’, which is launching in September.
The game has been built to complement the branding, photos and cartoon artwork of The Veronicas – twin sisters Lisa and Jessica - and the single is integrated into the gameplay to encourage players to continue through to the end of the track.
In the game, players take the role of a musician - changing between a guitarist, bass player and drummer as the game progresses. The musician’s role is to help The Veronicas (theveronicasuk.com) complete their new song by catching electro pop riffs as they sing. The only snag is that the sound stage is swaying along to the beat and that means players have to battle with gravity at the same time as they grab the riffs. Players can also enter their names onto a high-score league.
The game has been specifically designed to appeal to a wide range of players who make up the duo’s target audiences. Players can play the game and then click through to purchase the single and album, when released.
Kerb’s in-house specialist seeding agency, Hyperseed will be seeding the game to third-party sites. The game has been designed to contain updateable assets so it can be easily repurposed when the follow up single is released.
Jim McNiven, managing director of Kerb says: “This project has a great blend of focuses for us as we have a strong heritage in music as well as a decade’s experience in developing games that have the right levels of difficulty to challenge a broad range of players.”
Ebony Rhiney-James, digital marketing manager at Warner Bros Records, says: “We chose Kerb to deliver The Veronicas’ project because they have a clear understanding and great experience of games and music. They knew what would appeal to fans and have produced a fun, addictive experience that we love.”
