Many people suffer from lower back pain at one time or another sometime throughout the course of a lifetime. This program will provide training for physicians in the latest pain management injections techniques and procedures. Pain Management is one of the highest paying sub specialty services a physician can provide for patients making this a profitable addition to an existing practice. Empire Medical Training’s lead instructor is Ronald Jablensky MD who is Board Certified in Anesthesia and Subspecialty Certified in Pain Management.
Dr. Jablensky enjoys teaching and has encouraged primary care physicians to learn these new pain management injection procedures and is known for being a patient instructor with exceptional teaching skills. With the addition of Empire’s faculty of specialists assisting in the hands-on portion of the clinical training this program includes not only the Blind or palpatory technique for performing these procedures it also includes extensive training in Fluoroscopically Guided Injection techniques.
In addition to the precision added when using Image Guidance, there is a significant increase in reimbursement as well. This will be presented during the coding and reimbursement portion of the program. The training begins with didactic material covering the specific principles of the various medical procedures and later, physicians will receive hands-on training to gain proficiency in the various injection procedures. Physicians learn specifically how to perform the “Palpatory” Method, as well as various injections using Fluoroscopic techniques and continuing on to the latest technology in non invasive treatments using acoustic waves.
Already extremely popular in Europe, this novel approach to pain management is available for the first time in the United States by Empire Medical Training. Curriculum will include physics of acoustic waves, patient selection, treatment parameters and frequency, limitations of the technique and contraindications. Upon completion of this program the physician can expand a current practice to include the sub specialty services of pain management increasing options for existing patients and attracting new ones.
Physicians learn to perform all the injection procedures confidently and correctly including Destructive Facet injection, Paravertebral Facet injection, Arthrocentesis/Injection of Sacroiliac, Shoulder, Hip, Knee, Trigger point injections, Prolotherapy and Viscosupplementation therapy are all covered during this training course. Instructors demonstrate needle placement techniques and physicians learn through hands-on laboratory settings. Physicians will be able to evaluate the patient with chronic lumbosacral pain, and pain in a large joint then develop a treatment plan using injection techniques.
