Having established a strong presence and expertise in the music space over the last decade, Slattery Communications’ new offering will focus solely on developing and implementing music strategies and campaigns for their clients.

Headed up by Colm Ó Riagáin, who has over 10 years experience in the music industry and public relations, reverb aims to develop and execute mutually beneficial music programmes by bridging the knowledge gap between brands and the music makers in a way that will make for authentic partnerships, campaigns and sponsorships.

Commenting on the launch, Colm Ó Riagáin said: “Music is a fertile space with many marketing opportunities for brands and we are in a position to offer a consultancy that creates ideas through music borne out of an understanding of the music industry and how it works. reverb offers a 360˚ service for the music needs of brands from strategy and planning to concept development, events execution and campaign management. It’s all about helping brands build memorable, credible and lasting experiences for their target consumers.”

“Music can bring a product to life, stirs emotions and connects with the audience in a unique and remarkable way. If you get it right it can differentiate a brand in a heartbeat. Music and it’s interaction with consumers is a radically evolving relationship and it is this relationship that instigated the establishment of reverb. Gone are the days when it was sufficient to place a logo on a stage or a poster, we are now seeing the establishment of meaningful relationships between artists, events and brands.”

Also commenting, Padraig Slattery, Chief Executive of Slattery Communications, said: “We have a very strong reputation in the industry for developing specialist knowledge, and with the launch of reverb we believe we are at the leading edge in music and brand consultancy in Ireland. Reverb will offer a consultancy like no other available in the market where we see both sides of the coin; we know what the brand wants, what the music makers can deliver and we also have the consumer insight to marry both together.”

Alongside the bespoke brand consultancy service, reverb has created a website, reverb.ie which will circulate a monthly industry ezine outlining trends, international campaigns and observations on the Irish music scene. Plans are also in development to host a discussion series to educate marketing managers on navigating through the many and varied opportunities for brands in the Irish music scene.

Slattery Communications and now reverb currently work with Bacardi, Meteor, Hennessy, Nokia, Toyota and Southern Comfort.

Slattery Communications was founded in 1982 and has been consistently regarded as one of the leading public relations consultancies in Ireland throughout that period. It has advised many of the country’s best-known enterprises on their communications strategies including those in the financial, FMCG, technology, sport and leisure sectors. Based in Donnybrook, Dublin the company has a staff of 25 with a broad range of specialist communications offerings.

Colm Ó Riagáin has been working in the music industry in various roles for the past 10 years and now heads up the music division, reverb (reverb.ie) at Slattery Communications. He is currently responsible for a number of brands including Bacardi, Southern Comfort, Hennessy, Nokia, Meteor and Toyota and a number of other music related properties. Recent projects include Bacardi’s release of Groove Armada’s mini-album, Meteor Music Awards, Hennessy Artistry, Bacardi & Southern Comfort at Oxegen and Electric Picnic, among many others. A fluent Irish speaker, he began his career presenting a weekly show on Dublin’s Radió Na Life and has also served time with Warner Music Ireland and HMV Ireland, where he managed all their public relations and marketing activities for Ireland. He has also worked with The O’Brien Press, St Patrick’s Festival and Festival of World Cultures.
