Mobile Content 2009 - The Creative Window into the Wireless Future
Mobile Content 2009 - The Creative Window into the Wireless Future

NewswireToday - /newswire/ - Seoul, Korea (South), 05/11/2009 - Developers of mobile content will compete for 6 months to win awards at one of the world’s biggest mobile content festivals. The conference will show the present and future of mobile content.

The Mobile Content 2009 Conference & Awards has announced that it will begin accepting applications for the Mobile Content 2009 Conference & Awards from May 2009. This event will be hosted by KOCCA (Korea Culture & Contents Agency) and Maeil Business and sponsored by MCST (Ministry Culture, Sports & Tourism, Korea).

The wireless technology industry in South Korea has been leading the global TMT (Technology, Media, Telecom) sector and is at the center of the evolution of broadband and mobile. Due to Korea’s mobile infrastructure, global mobile players consider it as an early adapter for mobile technology and other businesses.

Recently Apple has broken revenue records despite worldwide economic turmoil, signifying a new milestone for the company as a whole. Meanwhile, its App Store has marked a milestone of its own – it served its one-billionth app on April 23, 2009. With this progress and the increasing number of users of smart phones, the future of mobile content markets has huge growth potential. As a result, global mobile players are now turning to focus on the issues of a mobile application’s ‘usability’, ‘recreation’, and ‘convenience’ with a profit-return structure.

The 4th anniversary of the Mobile Content 2009 Conference & Awards will be held from September 9-10 at DMC (Digital Media Center) in Seoul, Korea. The Awards will show the most innovative and creative mobile content and the clear direction of the future of the mobile content business.

The Mobile Content 2009 Conference & Awards will grant awards in the following categories of mobile content and services: Best Mobile Game, Best Mobile Service, Best Infotainment & Community, (Special Awards) Most Innovative Content and (Special Awards) Most Outstanding Contribution. The winners will receive a trophy, prize money (KRW 5,000,000) and an emblem. Last year saw 115 entries from 11 countries and the five winners were from three countries including the USA, Japan and Korea.

Mobile content developers and service providers can apply online at mobilecontent.co.kr from April 15 (Wednesday) to June 28 (Sunday). Participants may also attend the global mobile conference portion of the event.
